FeyWild’s Enchanted Woods [Part 05]

You spot a clearing through the foliage above. You are nearly there. The moon casts a midnight glow, almost beckoning you upward.

At the treetops, a faint blue light pulls at your attention. You move closer, careful but determined. As you approach, a sudden wave of sadness hits you. Tears form, and you wipe them away, unsure why the feeling is so overwhelming.

You find a nest holding a trembling golden egg. It rocks back and forth, wrong somehow. When you look at it, your chest tightens with pain. What you thought was moonlight reveals itself as a glowing path rising into the sky, the blue light traveling along it before vanishing. You want to follow, but something keeps you rooted as the egg begins to crack.

Just as it hatches, you wake up in an infirmary, surrounded by loved ones. A village doctor rushes to your side as you open your eyes.
“Sir, what am I…doing here?”
He lets out a sigh of relief before replying, “Thank god! We thought we almost lost you.”
