Commercial Use

General Use

All Eightfold Paper content — including maps, item cards, Foundry VTT modules, and other digital or physical assets — is protected by copyright. Unless explicitly licensed otherwise, our products are for personal use only.

What You May Not Do

  • Sell, resell, or redistribute our content in any form — digital or physical, even if altered or repackaged.
  • Use our maps or items in commercial products (e.g., books, adventures, VTT bundles, paid downloads, etc.).

What is Allowed

  • Streaming and Content Creation. You may use our maps and items in livestreams, recorded videos, or actual play campaigns — as long as:
    • Our name (“Eightfold Paper”) is clearly credited.
    • Our website (eightfoldpaper.com) is visibly listed.
    • The product itself is visible or featured.

Commercial License

Members of our Hero tier on Patreon are granted a limited-use commercial license. You must remain subscribed for as long as your product is for sale, and for a minimum of 1 year. (Annual licensing is available upon request). Then, commercial use is allowed, given these restrictions:

  • You are a small creator/business.
  • Your product must not depend on our content to function or sell.
  • Your products may not directly compete with us on platforms where we are active (including Patreon, Roll20, Foundry VTT, and crowdfunding sites), unless explicitly permitted.
  • Appropriately credit us:
    • Our name in the credits as “Battlemaps by Eightfold Paper, “Magic Items by Eightfold Paper”, or “Battlemaps & Magic Items by Eightfold Paper”, with a link to “https://www.patreon.com/EightfoldPaper“.
    • A link to “https://www.patreon.com/EightfoldPaper” beneath or beside the artwork or in another prominent location near the artwork.
    • To use our battlemaps (not applicable for magic items) in your adventures, supplements, modules, or other published materials, you must visibly place our logo (any variant) on our battlemap. Find brand material here.
  • Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis — please contact us to discuss your project.

For questions or anything outside these guidelines, such as larger publishing needs or one-time commercial licenses, please contact us directly at info@eightfoldpaper.com to discuss custom terms.
